This is one of the reasons why Martin Freeman is probably my favourite actor of all time - his complete and utter control over his voice and breathing while acting.
The way his words are swallowed by the tears he won’t let fall, it’s absolutely perfect, because god, that’s what really happens when you cry and talk, isn’t it? There’s no dramatic oscar-bait wailing, no fits of fury at the unfairness of it, there’s just this broken man with a broken voice who can’t piece himself together, he can only try not to fall apart.
And then I put this on my iPod because apparently I want to hear this come on shuffle and start crying in public.
